So, there is a crack in your plaster ceiling. Big deal....right?
Maybe so, maybe not.
How can you know if it is something that should concer you? Here's a short list to check off:
1). Is the crack getting noticably bigger in a fairly short time period? The last 6 months, year?
2). Has the crack been repaired before....and is the crack STILL coming back?
3). Was your house built between 1945 and 1965?
4). If you take a tape measure and compare the ceiling height in the corner of the room to the ceiling height in the are of the crack, is there a difference greater than 1/2" ?
If you answered yes to any of these questions its time to have a closer look.
In fact, certain plaster ceilings are more prone to sudden and catostrophic collapses than others, because of the way they were installed.
Fortunately we can diagnose, safely lift (if needed) and re-secure such ceilings, repairing them so they won't crack or collapse...ever.
We guarantee it.
Don't put off having your ceiling inspected. You don't have to be Chicken Little!
